Open Access Policy
The International Journal of Innovative Technologies in Social Science (IJITSS) is an Open Access journal, committed to making scientific knowledge freely accessible to researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and the general public. Our Open Access policy ensures that all articles published in the journal are available to everyone without any subscription or paywall barriers, supporting the rapid dissemination of research and the advancement of social science fields.
1. Open Access Model
IJITSS operates under the Gold Open Access model, meaning that all articles are freely accessible to readers immediately upon publication. Authors retain the copyright of their work and grant the journal the right to distribute it under an open access license. There are no subscription fees or restrictions on access.
2. Licensing
All articles published in IJITSS are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This license allows others to:
- Share: Copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
- Adapt: Remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
The only requirement is that proper credit must be given to the original authors and source. This ensures that the work is freely available for reuse while maintaining author recognition.
3. Article Processing Charges (APC)
To support the costs associated with open access publishing, IJITSS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) upon acceptance of the manuscript. The APC covers the costs of editorial work, peer review management, typesetting, and hosting of the article on the journal’s website.
- The APC for IJITSS is 120 USD.
- Authors from low-income countries or those facing financial difficulties may apply for a waiver or discount. Waivers are granted on a case-by-case basis, and authors are encouraged to contact the editorial office for more information.
4. Benefits of Open Access
Publishing under an Open Access model offers the following benefits:
- Global Reach: Articles are freely available to anyone, anywhere in the world, ensuring maximum visibility and impact.
- Increased Citations: Research has shown that open access articles are cited more frequently than those behind paywalls.
- Collaboration: Open access promotes collaboration across disciplines and sectors by removing barriers to information sharing.
- Public Engagement: Open access allows non-academic audiences, including practitioners, policymakers, and the general public, to engage with and benefit from cutting-edge research.
5. Archiving and Preservation
IJITSS is committed to the long-term preservation of published content. Articles are archived in multiple repositories and digital libraries, ensuring that the content remains accessible even if the journal ceases operations. Authors are also encouraged to self-archive their published work in institutional repositories or on personal websites.
6. Compliance with Open Access Mandates
Many research funders, institutions, and governments require that the results of publicly funded research be made available through open access. IJITSS complies with these mandates and allows authors to meet the open access requirements of their funding bodies.
7. No Embargo Policy
IJITSS does not impose any embargo periods on its articles. Once a manuscript is accepted and published, it is immediately available to the public under the Creative Commons license without delay.
