Author Guidelines

The International Journal of Innovative Technologies in Social Science (IJITSS) welcomes submissions that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in social science, particularly at the intersection of technology and society. These guidelines provide essential information for preparing and submitting manuscripts. Please follow these instructions carefully to ensure a smooth submission and review process.

1. Manuscript Types

IJITSS accepts the following types of manuscripts:

  • Original Articles: Presenting original research findings. Typically 5,000 to 8,000 words.
  • Review Articles: Offering comprehensive overviews of existing research on a specific topic. Generally 6,000 to 10,000 words.
  • Case Studies: In-depth examinations of specific instances or applications in the field, focusing on practical implications and lessons learned. Typically 3,000 to 6,000 words.

2. General Formatting

  • Language: Manuscripts must be written in English. Authors whose first language is not English are encouraged to have their manuscript professionally edited before submission.
  • Font and Spacing: Manuscripts should be prepared in Times New Roman, 12-point font, with 1.5 line spacing.
  • Margins: Set margins to 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
  • Page Numbers: Include page numbers at the bottom of each page.
  • Footnotes: Avoid footnotes. Where additional explanation or commentary is needed, incorporate it into the text.
  • File Format: Submit manuscripts in Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) format.

3. Structure of the Manuscript

Each manuscript should be organized as follows:

  • Title Page

    • Title of the article.
    • Full names, affiliations, and contact details (email) of all authors.
    • Indicate the corresponding author.
    • ORCID iDs for all authors (optional but encouraged).
  • Abstract

    • Provide a concise summary of the manuscript in 150-250 words.
    • The abstract should highlight the research objectives, methods, key findings, and conclusions.
  • Keywords

    • List 4-6 relevant keywords that will help readers find your article.
  • Introduction

    • Clearly state the background and objectives of the study, including the research problem and rationale.
  • Methodology

    • Provide a detailed description of the research methods, including study design, data collection, and analysis techniques.
  • Results

    • Present the research findings clearly and logically, using tables, figures, and charts where appropriate.
  • Discussion

    • Interpret the results, discussing their significance and implications for the field.
  • Conclusion

    • Summarize the key findings and suggest potential directions for future research.
  • Acknowledgments (optional)

    • Mention any financial support, grants, or assistance received during the research process.
  • References

    • All references must be listed at the end of the manuscript following the APA 7th Edition style. Detailed information can be found within the comprehensive References Guidelines.

4. Figures and Tables

  • Figures and Tables should be included in the manuscript body where they are first referenced, not at the end.
  • Each figure and table must have a clear title and a corresponding caption.
  • Ensure that figures and tables are cited in the text and numbered consecutively.
  • Provide figures in high-resolution format suitable for publication (e.g., .jpeg, .png).

5. Ethical Considerations

  • Plagiarism: IJITSS has a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism. All submissions are checked for originality using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant overlap with previously published work will be rejected.
  • Ethics Approval: For research involving human or animal subjects, authors must provide proof of ethical approval from an appropriate ethics committee.
  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest in the manuscript. If there are no conflicts, include a statement declaring "No conflicts of interest to declare."

6. Citation and Referencing

All references should follow the APA (7th Edition) citation style. Below are examples of common reference types:

  • Journal Articles:

  • Books:

7. Submission Process

  • Submit your manuscript through the IJITSS online submission system.
  • Ensure that all co-authors have approved the manuscript and its submission.
  • Manuscripts must include a cover letter addressing the relevance of the article to the journal’s Aims and Scope.

8. Peer Review Process

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review. The identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous to ensure objectivity.
  • Authors are required to revise their manuscript based on reviewer feedback and resubmit within the specified timeline.

9. Article Processing Charges (APC)

  • Upon acceptance, authors are required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) of 120 USD to cover publication costs.
  • Payment can be made through Stripe, PayPal, or Bank Transfer.
  • Authors from low-income countries may apply for an APC waiver by referring to the World Bank country classification here.

10. Copyright and Open Access

  • All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This allows others to share and adapt the work, provided the original authors are properly credited.
  • Authors retain copyright of their published work.
