Article Processing Charges (APC)

The European Journal of Intelligent Transportation Systems (EJITS) operates under an Open Access model, ensuring that all published articles are freely available to the global community without subscription barriers. To support this model and cover the costs associated with the publication process, EJITS charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) for each accepted manuscript.

1. APC Amount

The Article Processing Charge for EJITS is 135 USD per accepted article. This fee covers the following:

  • Editorial processing, including peer review management.
  • Manuscript formatting, typesetting, and final publication.
  • Continuous Article Publishing (CAP), ensuring immediate availability of the article upon acceptance.
  • Long-term archiving and preservation of the published research.
  • Indexing services and enhanced visibility across databases and academic platforms.

2. When is the APC Payable?

The APC is only payable after a manuscript has been peer-reviewed, accepted for publication, and is ready for production. There are no fees for submitting a manuscript or during the review process.

3. Payment Methods

Upon acceptance, the corresponding author will receive an invoice with payment instructions. EJITS offers the following payment methods:

  • Stripe: Secure online payment via credit or debit card through the Stripe payment system.
  • PayPal: Payment via PayPal, offering a secure and convenient option for international transactions.
  • Bank transfer

Specific payment instructions, including links to complete the transaction, will be provided in the acceptance email.

4. Waivers and Discounts

EJITS is committed to supporting authors from all regions and financial circumstances. Authors from low-income countries may apply for APC waivers or discounts, depending on their ability to pay. Additionally, authors facing financial difficulties may request a waiver on a case-by-case basis. To apply for a waiver or discount, authors should contact the editorial office at the time of submission or after their manuscript is accepted for publication.

5. APC Waiver Eligibility

EJITS considers waiver requests for authors from countries classified as low-income by the World Bank. Authors who require financial assistance are encouraged to submit a waiver request alongside their manuscript submission.

6. Funding Support

Many institutions, research funders, and governmental agencies offer funding to cover APCs for Open Access publishing. Authors are encouraged to explore available funding opportunities, including:

  • Institutional Open Access funds.
  • Governmental or non-governmental funding bodies.
  • Research grants that support Open Access publishing.

7. No Hidden Charges

EJITS does not charge additional fees for the following:

  • Submission of manuscripts.
  • Color figures, supplementary materials, or extended data.
  • Article corrections after publication (if needed).

The APC is a one-time fee that ensures the manuscript is freely accessible to the public, providing maximum visibility and impact.

8. Refund Policy

EJITS does not provide refunds for the APC once payment has been processed. Authors are advised to ensure that all information is correct before submitting payment.
